Tony R. Sparks
​Director

Tony has been singing publicly since 3rd grade, performing in choruses and choirs throughout secondary school and into college. At the University of Colorado, Boulder, he studied music theory and performance.

Tony has directed three men's choruses. He developed a particular love for a cappella harmony while in junior high school, and sang in his first competitive barbershop quartet in 9th grade. He eventually went on to sing for nearly 20 years with an internationally-ranked medalist quartet, Bank Street, that performed throughout the U.S. as well as in Canada and England.

Today, in addition to directing On Q, Tony is a vocal coach, arranger, and Certified Music Judge for barbershop contests. He is actively involved in promoting a cappella music and arts collaboration throughout the Albuquerque community, and especially enjoys working with young people to help ignite in them a life-long love of music.

Kate Page
President

​Kate has been involved with music since a young age, taking advantage of every choral and band opportunity she could participate in through high school and college.  New to Albuquerque in the spring of 2016 she found herself at home among the women of On Q.  She quickly fell in love with barbershop and made lifelong friends.

​Her career has been in the non-profit management, most recently at Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico where she directed a large AmeriCorps Program for many years. She is currently in the role of full-time mom to a very energetic toddler. Her favorite activities are spending time with her family, camping, cooking and gardening. 

Valeria De Lira Richards
Vice President 

Valeria began singing since before she could talk. Her grandmother introduced her to singing as a baby, by taking Valeria to her church choir in Mexico. Since then, her love for music flourished. Valeria sang in her church and school choirs in Santa Fe for 12+ years, which allowed her the opportunity to sing at Carnegie Hall in NYC (twice) and for Pope Francis at the Vatican. She was a section leader in the SF Symphony Chorus, a member of the Young Voices of the Santa Fe Opera, performed in both productions of the children’s opera, Shoes for the Santo Niño, and had lead roles in school musicals including Godspell, Aida, and Into the Woods. In addition to singing, Valeria has played the African marimba for almost 15 years and hopes to return to this hobby eventually. In college, Valeria studied Music Education with an emphasis on Voice, before switching her major, and earning a B.A. in Psychology with minors in criminology and music (University of New Mexico). She was also a member of the UNM Concert Choir when studying music at UNM. 
After not doing anything musical for several years, Valeria returned to On Q in early 2025 (after joining briefly in 2022). She is new to barbershop and enjoys expanding her skills beyond just choral/classical singing. Besides music, Valeria loves animals, going outdoors with her wife, and is an avid oddities enthusiast/collector. 

Sophia Minetos
​Secretary

 
 Sophia joined On Q in late 2020. She loves barbershop music, especially the lovey-dovey sappy songs. Her favorite part of On Q is spending time with all the incredible friends she's made in the chorus! 

Sophia works as a middle school language arts teacher. She is also a fantasy writer. A lifelong avid reader, she loves everything from classic literature to epic fantasy to contemporary romance. Her other hobbies include knitting, baking, and distance running. Additionally, she is a self-proclaimed meme queen and Muppet expert.   ​

Naomi Rosenau
Treasurer

Naomi has been involved in music her whole life. She started in church choir, band, and English handbells, and switched to choir in college. 

She was introduced to barbershop by her sister, and found On Q in 2016, where she enjoys not only the close harmonies, but the comradery and sisterhood of friendship.

Aside from singing, she keeps busy working in environmental science, gardening, crochet, and keeping up with her kids.

​​Carlie Elliott
​Director of Membership

Carlie has been passionate about music for as long as she can remember. She started playing guitar at a young age and soon participated in her youth church band. Now, she leads her church's praise band, sharing her love for music with her community. She has a background in show choir and musical theatre, but discovered a true passion in barbershop singing.

In 2017, while studying at the University of New Mexico, Carlie joined On Q chorus. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's of science in business analytics. Currently, she works as a business operations analyst and volunteers as the treasurer for the Presbytery of Santa Fe.

Additionally, Carlie is a member of one of the chorus's quartet groups, the Bosque Bellas and is a self diagnosed Disney adult!

Leslie Dodge​
​Member at Large

Leslie has loved music from an early age, singing in pop choir in high school and continuing in multiple collegiate choirs. She has also performed with the Dona Ana Lyric Opera and the Rockwall Community Choir, and has always found joy in connecting with others through music.
She brings 17 years of experience as an elementary music teacher and currently teaches at North Star Elementary in Albuquerque Public Schools. In addition to teaching, she runs a private voice studio and enjoys mentoring new music teachers as a way to give back to the profession.
Leslie holds a Master of Music in Music Education from Texas A&M University–Commerce and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from New Mexico State University. She is trained in Orff Schulwerk, Kodály, and Kindermusik.
Originally from New Mexico, Leslie recently returned to Albuquerque to be closer to family. She enjoys spending time with her children, being in the mountains, and exploring the local food scene. She first discovered On-Q while watching their Christmas performance and was immediately drawn to the strong sense of community. Excited to meet new people and challenge herself, Leslie looks forward to learning and growing in the barbershop style.
